A 2D and 3D Analysis on Electromagnetic Parameters of Spoke-shape Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Using FEM

In industry, the most frequently used motors are induction (IMs), reluctance motors, and permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). Nowadays because of higher efficiency with power density, PMSM attracts its uses in every field application. Hence, a spoke shape interior PM-based motor (IPMSM) distributed winding is considered to discuss this paper. Also, there has always been dispute between 2D 3D analysis electromagnetic parameters machines. Therefore, paper discusses accuracy, advantages, difficulty level FEM IPM model by considering several electromechanical such as torque, flux linkage, eddy current loss, etc. The performance five different core materials also for comparison. These analyses carried out using ANSYS Maxwell software. Spoke IPMSM 0.55 kW 220 V, 50 Hz analysis. comparison results under magnetostatic transient conditions presented verified reported literature. given more value case stator current, magnetic density than where give good back EMF, losses. Significant percentage changes respect observed cases reported. Silicon Steel M36 suitability rotor observed. This clarifies accuracy prior design motor.
